Lynch Wood Park has received an award from the British Parking Association (BPA), which means visitors and clients can work at the premium Peterborough facility knowing their vehicle is safe and secure.
Assessors from the BPA’s Park Mark Safer Parking scheme hailed our parking facilities as ‘very well managed with excellent security policies’ and ‘a safe environment for both staff and visitors’.
This followed an evaluation in October 2020, a process that culminated in the association issuing the Park Mark award for all six car parks at Lynch Wood Park.
A report from the scheme detailed that Lynch Wood Park’s ‘well-lit’ car parks were patrolled by security staff and blessed with good CCTV coverage monitored around the clock.
‘Proven to be safer’
High hedging and trees running the 350,000 sq ft site’s perimeter as well as a controlled barrier meant there had been no incidents of reported crime on any of the car parks in the past 12 months. As an extra precaution, all on-site security staff boasted up-to-date SIA-accredited training, rendering them equipped and able to handle any intruders.
The car parks were deemed to be ‘well sign posted’ with ‘excellent signage’ directing both vehicles and visitors to the parking areas and reception; something that alleviates excuses for people who should not be on site.
A statement on the Park Mark website reads: “The scheme is a national standard for UK car parks with low crime and measures in place to ensure the safety of people and vehicles. As such, Park Mark-awarded car parks are proven to be safer places.”
