In late 2019, Laura Barron, the proud owner of ‘The Hair Lounge’, launched the hunt for a new space for her business. This space needed to be easy to find and be situated in a busy location.
Laura got in touch with us and we showed her around Unit 3A at The Maltings, a prime shopping parade in Ross-on-Wye, comprising 11 shops, anchored by a Sainsbury’s.
After seeing the unit, Laura saw the potential of the 556 sq ft unit and decided that this is where she wanted to open up her salon. After signing the lease and with a vision in mind, Laura began renovations on her new space and began the transformation.
Laura worked tirelessly to strip the unit back to core and installed new equipment, wiring and plumbing. It was during this time in which the original flooring was discovered and rather than covering it over with carpet, it was restored; giving the unit its classic but modern look.
Below are some images of what Laura’s fantastic space looks like today:
We are pleased to have been able to support Laura in transforming her vision into reality and to be able to see her business grow from strength to strength.
Laura provided us with her own statement below:
“The unit needed a lot of work to turn it into a modern hair salon, I put a new kitchen in, upgraded and enhanced the entire unit, ripped up the old outdated carpet to reveal the original pine wood flooring, which I sanded and painted. I upgraded the electrics and plumbing and made it the unit fit for purpose as a hairdressing salon.
“I already had a large following which kept me fully booked prior to opening The Hair Lounge, however, I have seen more people become clients at the salon due to the great location of The Maltings and the volume of footfall that passes there daily. This has enabled me to employ a part-time hairdresser to work alongside me at The Hair Lounge.
“I have found the two people I have worked with from FI Real Estate Management, Rob Melling, and Rebecca Mason to be extremely helpful at every stage with any queries I have had.“
