Business leaders from across Lancashire and the North West came together last week to discuss the significant shifts that have shaped the logistics sector over the past three years.
At our exclusive event at the iconic Botany Bay site in Chorley, 70+ professionals from the transport and logistics industry considered key themes including digital transformation, automation, sustainable practices and supply chain resilience.
The business breakfast featured speakers from major organisations including family-owned food service company, Dunsters Farm, supply chain solutions business, Ceedbox, and logistics specialist, Simplycargo.
The ‘Logistics: Changing Faces, Places and Spaces’ event served as a platform for industry leaders and entrepreneurs to collaborate, gain insights and collectively navigate the evolving landscape of the logistics sector.
One of the recurring themes of the event was how the ‘Amazonisation’ of the logistics sector had raised customer expectations and accelerated the drive towards technology solutions.

Hannah Barlow is the managing director at Rochdale-based Dunsters Farm, which employs 126 people and has a turnover of £25m. She said:“We’re a food wholesaler and a logistics company, with our own fleet of vehicles. The logistics sector has changed more in the last three years than in the previous 20, which is why events like the one at Botany Bay are so important.”
The event saw us open the doors of our home at Botany Bay, where redevelopment plans are underway to transform 21 acres of land to create over 905,000 sq ft of industrial and office space.
Representing another of our flagship developments, Botany Bay will see the creation of a diverse business community with new offices, car parking and a £2m investment from FIREM towards road improvements, pedestrian and cycle networks.
